Golf = Life

There are few things in life as frustrating as golf. Many of the reasons its frustrating are the same reasons I love the game. Nobody has an advantage. You are only as good as you are. You can't say "He's better because ..." or "His clubs blah blah blah". Anyone who knows the basics of the game can hit an amazing shot with any club. The only advantage anyone could arguably have is that they practice more, and you can't fault your opponent for your lack of effort.

Yesterdays eighteen holes was an exercise in patience. There were several fivesomes on the field (which is highly unusual, and we were all surprised they let them go out), creating massive backups, and lots of sitting time. Soooooo annoying. By the time you get to hit, your totally out of the groove. But, you can't fault other morons for your emotional discontent and ensuing superfail, Dr. Shankenstein!

Nah, all in all, yesterday was one of my favorite rounds of the year so far, and I didn't even break a hundred. Didn't matter though, I've really straightened out my drive, and my putting is no longer the bane of my exsistance. Of course, since I've started working out those issues, my magical chipping powers have completely left me.

So goes golf and life.
